This brand represents our supply of fresh produce overseas – predominantly in the United Arab Emirates and closer to home, the Channel Islands. It was something we chanced upon but was based on existing relationships with chefs who had run screaming from Blighty to continue their career where the sun shone occasionally.

Fresh International started with us receiving ‘wish you were here’ postcards; chefs abroad were struggling with a lack of service and focus on fresh produce and these were the guys serving some of the most distinguished brands and in turn, customers.

So instead of writing back with our news (‘much rain here but we’re keeping our spirits up’), we packed our bags and jumped on a flight to check it out. Fresh International now serves some great names with an array of products from all over the world (fruit and veg doesn’t grow well in the desert you see), giving Dubai more breadth of variety for different applications. The beauty of it is diners out there are mad for British produce so it’s an ideal arena to showcase some of our wares, using our facilities in Paris’ Rungis Market as a half-way collection point.

Whilst we’ve replicated the service we offer in the UK to the foreign market we’re not a lump of jam we’re trying to spread thinly over one piece of toast. Entry into any foreign market is only being considered where there is a real fit in terms of the shortfalls of that country and what we can offer in return. We like our toast smothered in jam, so why would we compromise our customers in the same way?

You can contact our ‘man in the sand’ directly if you’re interested in learning more.
