Soft fruits

soft-fruits

Soft fruits are the iconic fruits of summertime. Nothing beats a big bowl of strawberries with a generous drizzle of fresh cream!

Fresh Direct supply an impressive array of different soft fruits and berries, including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, blueberries, redcurrants, cranberries, elderberries, grapes, loganberries, gooseberries, rowanberries, sloe berries, figs and more.

Typically, soft fruits are grown in the UK at varying times between April and November.

This is in some way thanks to poly tunnels and glasshouses keeping them safe from our (rather unreliable!) British weather. Outside of this time (and during if Britain runs out) they’re available in plentiful supply from across Europe and around the world.

Not only are soft fruits juicy, summery and super delicious, they’re also a pretty healthy food too. Although they can be quite high in natural sugars, they’re also nutrient rich and loaded with antioxidants like vitamin C.
