Fresh Direct Cambridge is the smallest depot in the family, with just a tiny 8,000sqft refrigerated warehouse… OK, that’s still a pretty big fridge!
Cambridge is a city steeped in history. In fact, its heritage can be traced as far back as the 1st century – a fair few years before Fresh Direct rocked up! It’s a city with a globally-renowned university, a population of over 123,000 and some pretty impressive architecture.
Despite our depot’s size, Fresh Direct Cambridge is a key part of our network around the UK and thousands of tonnes of fresh food pass through the depot on its way to our customers every day!
The business originally began trading way back in 1982 as fresh produce shop ‘Cox’s of Cambridge’, and then later formed into a fresh food supplier ‘Dailyfresh’, supplying produce direct to businesses in the local area. And it’s done so since then; and since it became part of our family in October 2007.
Roughly speaking, Fresh Direct Cambridge supplies our customers in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Suffolk, Essex and Bedfordshire.
